On January 27, 2022, at the Byzantine Chapel at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on the campus of the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, Sister Servants of God prayed the entire Akathistos Service in honor of the Venerable and Life-giving Cross of Our Lord. Led by Father Peter Galadza of the Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky Institute in Toronto, the Sisters prayed in 3- and 4- part harmony and prayed for peace in Ukraine – to spare Ukraine from an invasion from Russian forces.
