    Through the generosity of Mr. Dean Shahinian, we kicked off an annual lecture series titled “The Grace and Paul Shahinian Armenian Christian Art and Culture Lecture Series.” The inaugural lecture was on March 23, 2023 at 5 pm (Heritage Hall, The Catholic University of America). The speaker was Prof. Christina Maranci (Harvard University) and the “Armenia and the World in Art and Text”

    On Friday, February 10, 2023, ISEC offered a seminar for our Catholic University of America doctoral students (in theology, Greek and Latin, Early Christianity) on how to produce a critical edition of a Greek text.     CUA Awards Honorary Degree to Metropolitan Serapion and Signs MOU with Coptic Theological School

    On November 5, 2022, The Catholic University of America bestowed an honorary degree to His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion of the Coptic Church, and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University and the St. Athanasius & St Cyril Coptic Orthodox Theological School.     On October 28, 2022, we celebrated the Gift of the Robert W. Thomson Research Collection – the late Prof. Thomson was the Calouste Gulbenkian Professor of Armenian Studies at Oxford University, and his family graciously donated his personal research library to the Semitics Department/ICOR Library of The Catholic University of America.
