On April 12, 2022, Prof. Emanuel Fiano (Fellow at Dumbarton Oaks, Fordham University) offered a lecture which tackled such topics as the distinction between human and divine law, and whether God gave Christians any secular precepts—contained at the outset of the Legal Codes produced by two seventh-to-eighth-century authors, Shemʿon and Ishoʿbokht of Rev Ardashir, both East-Syriac Metropolitan Bishops of Fars (in modern-day Iran).
